Who we are
About LookUp
LookUp brings knowledge to parliamentarians in a way they can understand, offers context that orients their decisions, and confidence to do the world's toughest job. Drawing on a global network of seasoned experts, LookUp assembles the right team for each assignment. We work closely with universities and try to reconnect parliaments with the citizens they serve. Whether through ecosystem diagnostics, one-on-one engagement, or reflective dialogue, our work is about more than technical fixes. It’s about restoring purpose and confidence to an institution that is too often misunderstood.
About the Founder
Dr. Kristen Heim has worked with parliaments across Africa and Europe since 2008, supporting legislative development through hands-on projects and later through doctoral research into how parliaments evolve. An anthropologist by day, she has studied international relations, conflict, and legislatures in three continents-but what drives her is learning: how we draw knowledge from the world, how we make sense of that knowledge, and what we decide to do with it. (Epistemology meets policy?) She loves co-learning, connecting (seemingly) disparate dots, trying out different frames, and making complex ideas simple. Otherwise, she is most often engaged in admiring fynbos, jogging, playing beach volleyball, and scaling mountains.
